Tom Clancy’s “The Division” Gets a Movie Adaptation

After the epic failure of Assassin’s Creed trailer to please the crowd and prove how online games can bring the same excitement in their movies, another very popular online game is now confirmed to have a movie adaptation, “THE DIVISION”.

Ubisoft announced last Tuesday that hit video game “The Division” will be made into a film in a collaboration with Hollywood stars Jessica Chastain and Jake Gyllenhaal.

“We are excited to collaborate with Jessica and Jake, two of Hollywood’s most talented actors and perfect creative collaborators to help bring ‘Tom Clancy’s The Division’ to the big screen,” said Ubisoft Motion Pictures chief executive officer Gerard Guillemot.

Tom Clancy’s The Division is an online-only open world third-person shooter video game that was published by Ubisoft for Microsoft Windows, PS4, and Xbox. The video game was released last March 2016 and set a new opening day sales record for a new video game franchise according to Ubisoft.

“A devastating pandemic sweeps through New York City, and one by one, basic services fail. In only days, without food or water, society collapses into chaos. The Division, a classified unit of self-supported tactical agents, is activated. Leading seemingly ordinary lives among us, The Division agents are trained to operate independently of command, as all else fails. Fighting to prevent the fall of society, the agents will find themselves caught up in an epic conspiracy, forced to combat not only the effects of a manmade virus, but also the rising threat of those behind it. When everything collapses, your mission begins.”

With the Assassin’s Creed movie coming closer for its premiere this coming December 21, 2016 starring Michael Fassbender, another project in development at Ubisoft Motion Pictures includes the computer hacking themed game “Watch Dogs”. The information regarding the start of production in the upcoming “The Division” movie is still not revealed.
