Pokemon Go Introduces Team Leaders and Gets 75 Million Downloads

The speculations of Pokemon Go hitting Japan to get a crazy number of downloads just got bigger than expected. The New York Times newspaper reported last Friday that 10 million people downloaded the Pokémon Go game in its first day of release in Japan last Thursday. It was reported by Similarweb that 24% of Android users in Jpaan have downloade the game surpassing the latest apps like Snapchat, WhatsApp, and KakaoTalk. As of now, Pokemon Go has 75 million downloads in just over 19 days since its release in 38 different countries all in all.

McDonald’s is involved with the introduction of the app to Japan. As part of the deal, the restaurant chain is the game’s first official sponsor, and McDonalds restaurants in Japan are now key locations for players.

With Pokemon-mania sweeping the planet, Nintendo's nascent shift into mobile gaming has proved a massive hit, vindicating the Japanese videogame giant's decision to unshackle itself from a long-standing consoles-only policy. / AFP PHOTO / TORU YAMANAKA / TO GO WITH Japan-US-IT-Nintendo-Pokemon-lifestyle,FOCUS by Harumi OZAWA
The 10 million downloads from Japan was achieved in the very first day it was released. Kawaii for Japan! The game is now the fastest mobile game to reach 50 million downloads. Pokemon Go will easily reach a 100 million downloads once it is released all throughout Asia and other waiting countries. Though Niantics have been busy fixing bugs and doing updates, the schedule for the release dates in other countries is still behind closed doors. But the recent news almost broke the internet as developer Niantic Labs revealed the team leader characters for the game during San Diego Comic Con last weekend, and is considering adding breeding to the game.

Trainers who played the game are going crazy over the introduced new team leaders and is now battling of who is the best. Team Valor is run by Candela, Team Mystic is under Blanche, and Team Instinct is run by Spark. Which team are you on? I myself was tempted to go with Team Instinct but Im with Candela, Team Valor! The designs were revealed at the end of Niantic’s Pokémon Go panel at San Diego Comic-Con. The hopes of announcing a legendary pokemon to be released in the game, alas it all ends with the rumors and no legendary pokemon in sight. I was thinking Mewtwo would be on the top of the Eiffel Tower, or Articuno in Mount Everest.

What team are you on and why? Leave a comment below.
