The acclaimed superhero anime One Punch Man was officially announced to have its first English-language dub premiering this July 16 on Adult Swim. The announcement was made this past weekend at Anime Expo 2016 by VizMedia.
All episodes of One Punch Man was only available to stream with English subtitles during its same day airing with the Japanese versions on televisions. Adult Swim will mark the first time these episodes to be released with English voice acting, no more subtitles, hurray!
One Punch Man initially began as a webcomic series creating parodies of many tropes of superheroes and martial arts anime. One-Punch Man’s titular hero is Saitama, a superhuman who can defeat any opponent with a single blow (hence the name “ONE PUNCH MAN”). Saitama is plagued by constant boredom because of his ability to easily vanquish foes, and describes himself as “just a guy who’s a hero for fun.” Due to its massive popularity, it was made with an anime adaptation and has become a huge successful franchise until today.
Max Mittelman, who has provided voices for Sword Art Online 2 and recent Gundam series, as well as video games like Fire Emblem Fates, Bravely Second: End Layer and Fallout 4, will star as Saitama. Joining him will be Zach Aguilar as Saitama’s disciple Genos, Robbie Daymond as fellow hero Mumen Rider and Erik Kimerer as Saitama’s self-proclaimed rival, Speed-o’-Sound Sonic.
With the large number of fans around the world awaiting for its second season to be released sooner or later, the English dubbed episodes of One Punch Man in Adult Swim will make a great way to consume time and enjoy watching it without the need to look at English subtitles. The latest updates regarding the One Punch Man Season Two was speculated to get three major villains such as Garou, Amai Mask, and the return of Lord Boros. But that’s all the update we have for now. So check out the newest English version of One Punch Man on Adult Swim this July 16!
