The new generation of special FX and CGI effects on movies puts the umlimited imagination of writers and directors to make movies we never knew possible. These movies became so realistic that most people would ask how did they do that? Well, let’s just leave that question answered by the pros , but the real question is, how much did it cost them to make such movie?

We may have the answer to that, but due to Hollywood’s secretive accounting, most of the films listed are the costs estimated by professional researchers and movie industr writers. This cost will only cover the actual filming cost except for promotions( advertisements, commercials,etc.) . These movies are the ones already released on public around the world since upcoming movies still in production could change their cost anytime.

1. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2001)
Jack Sparrow and Barbossa embark on a quest to find the elusive fountain of youth, only to discover that Blackbeard and his daughter are after it too . With an estimated cost of $378.5 million and a whopping box office hit of over $1.046 billion.

2. Pirates of the Caribbean: At world’s End (2007)
Captain Barbossa, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann must sail off the edge of the map, navigate treachery and betrayal, and make their final alliances for one last decisive battle . The film cost for the movie was estimated to be $300 million but grossed worldwide with a box office hit of $963.4 million.

3. Titanic ( 1997)
One of the most memorable movies of all time, Titanic movie cost over $294.3 million to make but everthing pays off as it hits the box office hit worldwide grossing over $2.2 billion.

4. Tangled (2010)
Walt Disney’s Tangled tells the story of a lost, young princess with long magical hair who yearns to leave her secluded tower. Against her mother’s wishes, she accepts the aid of a handsome intruder to take her out into the world which she has never seen.The film spent six years in production at a cost that has been estimated at $260 million making it as the most expensive animated movie ever made. It grossed a whopping $591.8 million worldwide.



5. Avengers: Age of Ultron(2015)
Marvel’s Avengers :Age of Ultron was one of the best movie released in 2015. With a star studded cast and amazing CGI effects, the movie was estimated to cost $279.9 million and earned over $1.405 billion worlwide.
