Attack On Titan Season 2 Cancelled For 2016!

After the unexpected news of our favorite animes being cancelled for season 2 or further delays of its release, here comes another bad news. The much hype of fans awaiting the return of Attack on Titan Season 2 just got down the road to disappointment. Crunchyroll now announced that it has apparently delayed its premiere for 2017.

The lack of story material was the number one concern for the series to go on with its next season, and until now, its still not close to being done. The manga currently has two arcs published and the developers of the series preferred to delay the anime than jumping to the series which will probably flood with filler episodes or disconnect from the last season. The manga needs to finish four arcs to give the “GO” signal for the production to start.

Attack on Titan has become one of the biggest franchise ever made in anime and its popularity is just starting to bloom, but do you think this delay would cause fans to lose their interest awaiting for a season that seems so far from being possibly released earlier than 2017?

The MoviePilot featured Selecta Vision’s product manager Manu Guerrero statement saying “Although everything suggested that it would be one of the strongest releases for the end of the year, in fact it was expected its release for October, it seems that it will finally be delayed and we will have to wait a little longer to see new episodes.”

For the new characters, Attack on Titan 2 will include Captain Kenny Ackerman, Uri Reiss, Rod Reiss, Freida Reiss and the Beast Titan; courtesy of iDigitalTimes. Moreover, the second season’s arc will revolve around the king where fans would most likely meet the Reiss Noble family. A video leaked online gave a peak of Attack on Titan Season 2 gaining 2 million views and is still increasing until now. Spoilers: Hange and his team noticed a titan’s face protruding from the wall. As one of the soldiers asked for the commander’s order, Pastor Nick told them to kill the titan with no doubts. Giving way to the idea that the walls are actually made with Titans.

Some of the biggest revelations we’ve seen from the two arcs in the manga includes the identity of the Colossal Titan and the Armored Titan. Apart from this, another notable titan shifter, the Dancing Titan, will also be introduced in the arc. That is not all, however, as one part of the arc, the Assault on Castle Utgard, is the chapter where the manga’s main enemy, the Beast Titan, would finally be unveiled.

I understand that this sad news may cause huge disappointments to most fans after being excited on the recent news about its release but let’s not lose hope! It may have been delayed for another year but Im pretty sure they will have a second season worth waiting for, I hope.
