Assassin’s Creed is a huge franchise in the gaming world, and to get a live-action film of it? That’s a huge challenge to take in if you ask me. I have never been a huge fan of live-action film from games because sometimes, it ruins the excitement for me due to the unacceptable chances of putting the story line into its downfall or just too much to take in. Video game movies have a track record of mediocrity and worse, trust me they do.But when I heard that Assassin’s Creed trailer was released last week, well I’ll be damned…What are they up to now?
The latest trailer released for the Assassin’s Creed upcoming movie totally broke the internet and created a wide-spread mixed emotions worldwide. Fans of the game was a little skeptical that the movie will pull-off the YOLO (You Only Live Once) feels from the game. But what totally made this trailer unforgettable?.
“Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.”
The film has a deep roster of talent attached to it. Oscar-nominated actor Michael Fassbender plays the lead role, alongside Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard, Brendan Gleeson, Jeremy Irons, and Michael Kenneth Williams. It is directed by Justin Kurzel, who also directed Fassbender and Cotillard in Macbeth. Can you ask for anything better than that?
“Welcome, to the Spanish Inquisition.” A good start—the 15th century parkour looks perfectly pulsating, and the spinny blade works is even better. Did I mention the movie included a badass female assassin?. But that’s not the reason why it broke the internet, that’s just the good part.
The feels of the Spanish inquisition was totally driven on the effecs not until..that music who ruins everything about it. Yes, the playing music of Kanye West’s “I AM A GOD”.Commenters have thrown a few jokes into the mix. “I’ll wait til they fix the bugs and glitches before watching this movie.” “Do you need a season pass to watch the second half of the movie.” That sort of stuff. But beyond that, the sole criticism to be seen repeated is in regard to the trailer’s music. “The song just doesn’t fit.” “Horrible song choice.” “Minus the music this trailer could have been fuckin amazing.” “Whoever chose the music should be fired.” “Too bad they had to mess it up with music from Kanye.”
The movie is speculated to be the most successful game movie ever created, until we no longer hear the unfit music from the trailer, we will have to wait and see it for ourselves this coming December 21, 2016!
