Boku no Hero Academia: Why are the expectations high?

The beginning of Spring season is just starting to bloom in the anime world and it’s a big hit for one anime to start off the season. Many fans have been giving their thoughts of putting a high expectation on this anime and I tried to figure out the reason why?

If you have been enjoying much of your time outside your television or computer and never got the latest updates of the newest shows, a new anime just aired the other day ( April 3, 2016), Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia). So what is this Boku no Hero Academia about?

What’s a hero? For Izuku Midoriya, the answer to that question has always been simple: “Everything I want to be!” And who is the ultimate hero? Well, the legendary All Might, of course. All Might is the number one ranked hero and also the “Symbol of Peace” in the world. Not in his wildest dreams could Izuku have imagined that he would soon cross paths with his childhood hero…

In Boku no Hero Academia, status is governed by “Quirks”—unique superpowers which develop in childhood. But, unfortunately, hero otaku Midoriya “Deku” Izuku never had a Quirk. That is, until he met All Might, the greatest hero of all time.

Izuku’s transformation from dreamer to superhero begins at Yuuei Academy, the top-ranked hero-training high school in Japan. Izuku is on cloud nine when he’s accepted to this prestigious academy, especially when he finds out that All Might is one of the teachers. What surprises does this mighty academy offer? And will Izuku be able to keep up with his elite classmates?

Yes, another type of protagonist who will start from the bottom and we’ll be there to witness as he rises into the top just like any other hero we idolized in anime. Why is the expectations from this anime breaking the internet?

Midoriya “Deku” Izuku reminds every fans an image of a familiar person who went through the same struggles, well not literally the same but his ideals and goals are most likely to bring their familiar sides. Who am I talking about? I’m talking about the greatest ninja ever, Naruto.

Our anime heroes have started to bid farewell and I’m guessing that’s why the expectations are high for this anime because we want to have that same “FEELS” that Naruto and the others gave us. He may never surpass how we idolized our heroes, but he will try to be the hero we will look up to in the next following years.
